Season 2[]
Jimmy and Kim screen his Sandpiper Crossing commercial, in which a somber Geraldine Strauss tearfully admits that her life savings disappeared when she moved to an assisted living facility. Kim is impressed, but is also surprised Cliff went along with it. “Why wouldn’t he be?” Jimmy asks, avoiding a direct response. ("Amarillo")
Jimmy and Kim watch the film Ice Station Zebra over wine and takeout. Their night is interrupted by a call to Jimmy’s cell phone. It’s Cliff, who is furious at Jimmy for airing the commercial without consulting him or his partners. Jimmy tries to smooth over the situation by pointing out the high volume of client traffic the commercial has already yielded. Cliff demands that Jimmy show the commercial to the partners the next morning before hanging up. For Kim’s benefit, Jimmy pretends that Cliff called to congratulate him on the ad. He rejoins her on the couch, doing his best to hide his concern about the storm he’ll be facing tomorrow. ("Amarillo")
Jimmy lies awake in bed and tosses and turns, but simply can't get comfortable. Giving up on falling asleep, he turns on the TV and starts channel surfing, finding that Davis & Main have used a very plain version of a class action lawsuit ad, with the monotonous narration and white text over swirly background that he hated. Jimmy decides to blow off steam by playing with the straw decorative balls in his apartment. Still bored, he drives to the nail salon and finally falls asleep in his old office. ("Bali Ha'i")
As part of his plan of getting fired from Davis & Main, Jimmy fills his wardrobe with numerous brightly colored shirts, suits, and ties. ("Inflatable")
