George M. Hamlin is the father of Howard Hamlin and the co-founder of HHM, alongside his close associate Chuck McGill.

History[]

Background[]

George became a lawyer at some point in his life and eventually had a son, Howard. He co-founded the Hamlin & McGill law firm with Charles "Chuck" McGill. After being persuaded to become a lawyer by his father and being mentored through law school by Chuck, Howard joined the firm. When George died and Chuck became housebound as a result of his supposed electromagnetic hypersensitivity, Howard became the firm's managing partner. He changed the name to Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill, and it eventually became one of the most successful law firms in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

When Kim reveals to Howard that she will be resigning to start up a solo practice, Howard expresses his admiration for her "fresh start"; he says that his father was dismissive of Howard starting a solo practice out of law school and instead brought his son into HHM "to get another 'H' on the logo". ("Fifi")

Season 3[]

Chuck reveals that George was working in a two-room office when he joined him to found HHM. ("Fall")

Season 6[]

Howard mentions George in his rant to Saul Goodman and Kim Wexler, sarcastically stating how his father helped him become a lawyer while they "had to struggle" to become ones. ("Plan and Execution")
