Season 4[]
Kim Wexler is shown adjusting David's tie and clothes at the courthouse before his trial, as well as informing him on what language and body language to use. While Kim sends him to sit down at a bench, out of court she meets DDA Bill Oakley, the attorney representing the prosecution. David is accused of throwing a cinder block through a jewelry store window with a witness present, but Kim pleaded not guilty at a previous appearance and requests only 6 months probation for David with no jail. Bill is against this offer, however Kim states that David was arrested based on a part of a statement he made before he was read his Miranda rights and collected evidence based on said statement, and says that Bill knew about this occurring. ("Quite a Ride")
This forces Bill to negotiate and right before the trial, Kim and Bill negotiate over David's term. Bill offers 8 months jail and then 6 months jail time + 1 year probation, but Kim reduces her offer of 6 months down to 4 months probation. Just before Judge Lipitz begins the trial, Bill finally concedes to 4 months probation. After the trial ends, David expresses his resentment to the fact that he will have a probation officer assigned to him for 4 months, and Kim responds by asking David to beg for a job at his grandfather's restaurant, warning him by saying that if he does not, he will go to jail. She also states that she will not represent him again now that he knows what will happen if he does not follow her instructions. ("Quite a Ride")
